A blog of simple, easy, money, time saving and also healthy Crock-Pot recipes. A lot of these recipes are soup recipes or recipes that include soup in the ingredients. Some are sauces or one-pot meals. I worked in a Crock-Pot Factory, in Hannibal, Mo., when we first got married, on November 30, 1974. The people I worked with gave us a Crock-Pot for a wedding gift. I started using one way back then and still use one. So I've been using a Crock-Pot for over 39 years now.

I have known for a long time that if you eat the right foods in the right amounts, on a regular basis, your weight will adjust. It might take a while depending on how much you need to lose. But if you are persistent and walk in Grace it will happen. It was pretty easy for me to lose the first 19 pounds. Since then I've been more or less maintaining my weight. I lost 19 pounds and gained back about 3 or 4. Since then I've been doing good keeping the rest that I lost off. Lately I've been eating a lot of Yogurt and Watermelon and Wheat Thin Crackers; along with balanced meals. I've also been taking a Vitamin and Fish Oil everyday. I believe this is helping me. I've been in a lot of pain, from Arthritis in my knees, feet, elbows and I'm not sure where else. It would be a lot easier to exercise if I didn't hurt so much. Hopefully the Fish Oil will help enough for me to start exercising regularly. Well that's about all my update for now. If I think of more I may make another post later. For now the take away is eat the right foods, in the right amounts, on a regular basis, exercise, if you can and watch the scales go down. It's more of a lifestyle than a diet!

Well this is Monday June 17th, 2013; the day after Fathers Day. Yesterday was not a good diet day! We had grilled out Pork Chops, fried Potatoes, grilled and buttered Corn on the Cob, and Lemon Meringue Pie. It was very nice, but not good for losing weight. I however don't regret eating every bite. It was delicious! And for a very special occasion . The dads seemed to enjoy it, and that's what's important.
Today is the last day for seeing our grandkids, before they leave for Florida. Brendan plays on a travel team and they have games in Pensacola this week.
I guess that's my update for now. I will try to post some more later. Oh, and by the way I'm still keeping my weight off. Hopefully I can really concentrate on the diet this week. So I can get back on a good track.

Baked Cod
2-3 Pieces of Cod fillets per person.
Butter and/or Olive Oil.
Salt or Seasoned Salt Substitute.
Pepper.
Lemon.
Preheat oven to 375-400 degrees.
Coat a baking dish with Butter or Olive Oil.
Place the Fish; seasoned on both sides, in a the baking dish, in a single layer.
Bake for about 30 minutes or according to directions on package.
Serve with Lemon wedges and Vegetables of choice. Also Tarter Sauce if desired.
This is a very good and healthy way to prepare Cod. There are some variations to this recipe, too. You can slice the Lemon, lay it on the Fish; and bake it like that. I've made it both ways. They both are delicious.

I haven't posted in a while because our computer has been out of commission and my laptop still is. But the desktop is up and running again now and hopefully I will get my laptop fixed soon. So I'll be posting regularly again now. My weight is still coming down slowly or at least being maintained well. We're doing better with our grocery shopping, although there is still plenty of room for improvement. At our age change is harder than when we were younger. We did pretty good this time though. We used several coupons and bought products on sale. Consequently we got meat, fruit and vegetables along with other products and saved $27.75 just with the coupons and Kroger Plus Card! Hopefully I will get even better at this as we go along.
